My Kids Deserve Better

about me

Joel Turtel, author of “Public Schools, Public Menace: How Public Schools Lie To Parents and Betray Our Children,” and “The Welfare State: No Mercy For The Middle Class,” holds a degree in Psychology and Architecture. For the last ten years he has done extensive research as an education-policy analyst, studying the alarming state of today’s public schools and its effect on children and parents.

Mr. Turtel has written two books, published over fifty articles, and has been interviewed in both print, radio shows, and TV shows. His latest book, “Public Schools, Public Menace” has garnered national media attention – for example, Dr. Laura Schlessinger featured the book on her nationally-syndicated radio show.

Joel was also a volunteer reading instructor at his local public school for about a year, where he helped grade-school students learn to read better. It was an enlightening experience that confirmed his views about public schools, and how they can wreck children’s ability to read.

Joel is available to discuss his book “Public Schools, Public Menace” in the media, at conferences, or with individual groups. Be warned though, you may be shocked by the revelations he has uncovered in America’s public-school system.

A few words from the author .  .   .

“I wrote this book because I happen to love kids. I love their bright, creative, spontaneous minds and energy. As I was researching this project, I was alarmed by how badly public schools can hurt our children. I saw that these schools could cripple children’s spirit, their love of learning, and their ability to read. I learned that kids were being taught harmful values that their parents disagreed with. These dangers to our children from public schools alarmed me, which is the primary reason I decided to write this book.”

“There is nothing more precious than our children. My book is an advocate for them – I defend their spirit, their love of learning, and their future. I do this by showing my readers how dangerous public schools can be to our children, and by telling parents and teenagers about affordable education alternatives to public schools that they can take advantage of right now.”
